Kenmore State School
Kenmore State School is an Independent Public School located in the heart of Kenmore. We provide education for students from the Preparatory Year to Year 6. Our school community is dedicated to achieving strong outcomes for our students and our school.
Our school motto, Courtesy and Knowledge, reflects the values we uphold. Our vision, Strive – Create – Achieve, guides our work each day with the goal of ensuring every student is learning and achieving high standards.
Our History
Kenmore State School was established in 1900 with 39 students and one teacher. More than 125 years later, the school has grown to over 530 students, supported by around 60 staff, including teachers and support personnel. We aim to extend a warm welcome to all families and create a strong sense of belonging for every student. Our focus is on promoting deep and lasting learning, and supporting students’ wellbeing, and building the skills and confidence they need to succeed both in and beyond school.
We are committed to supporting students to do their best across academic, sporting, artistic and cultural areas. We work purposefully to improve the education we provide through approaches that focus on continuous improvement for every student.

We focus on the key elements of our practice to support all students to access learning and make progress.
· Curriculum & Literacy
We maintain a whole-school focus on literacy across curriculum areas to support learning improvements and achievements for all students.
· Inquiry Learning
We broaden student engagement and higher-order thinking through inquiry approaches in specialist subjects, including The Humanities, STEM, the Arts and HPE.
· Creativity & Innovation
We support teachers and students to work together in designing locally relevant learning units and using a wide range of teaching approaches, including digital technologies.
We hold high expectations for student learning and behaviour. These expectations are supported by our school values, which guide how we work and interact each day. Respect, Responsibility and Resilience are shared across the school and visible in classrooms, the playground and the wider school community.
We welcome your child and family to the Kenmore State School community.
