Requests for Information or Assessments from External Providers
From time to time, families may engage external professionals (e.g. psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists or medical specialists) to support their child.
As a Queensland state school, we follow Queensland Department of Education guidelines when responding to requests for student information, reports, observations or school-based assessments.
To ensure student privacy, consistency and appropriate use of staff time, all third-party requests are managed through a formal process.
Our Process & Timeframes
- Step 1 – Written Request
Parents submit a written request to: studentsupportservices@kenmore.eq.edu.au
- Step 2 – Acknowledgement (within 3 school days)
The school will acknowledge receipt of the request. Consent form to share student information with 3rd parties will be sent and parent signature requested.
3. Step 3 – Review & Allocation (within 5–7 school days)
The request is reviewed to ensure it aligns with Department guidelines and privacy requirements. Information will be recorded and stored.
If clarification is required, the school will contact the parent.
- Step 4 – Preparation of Information (within 10–15 school days)
Where appropriate, information will be prepared and shared securely.
Please note: Complex requests, extensive historical records, or requests requiring multiple staff input may take up to 20 school days. Requests received during peak periods (e.g. end of term or reporting cycles) may require additional time. The school is not able to complete external provider assessment templates that fall outside Department guidelines.
